Friendly Amendments:
- An amendment is considered "friendly" if all original Sponsors of the draft resolution agree to the proposed change.
- Because the authors consent, the change is automatically integrated into the resolution without requiring a committee-wide vote.
Unfriendly Amendments:
- An amendment is "unfriendly" if even one original Sponsor opposes the change.
- The amendment must be formally submitted to the Chair with a required number of signatories. During voting procedure, the committee must debate and vote on the unfriendly amendment before voting on the resolution as a whole.
