Length and Formatting Guidelines:
Unless otherwise stated by your conference Secretariat, a Model UN position paper should be exactly one page per topic.
- Word Count: Typically between 250 and 600 words per topic.
- Spacing: Single-spaced paragraphs with a double space between paragraphs.
- Concision: Chairs read dozens of papers. Cut the "fluff". If a sentence does not state a policy, provide a statistic, or propose a solution, delete it.
The Digital Advantage:
Strict formatting requirements extend beyond position papers to the resolutions themselves. While word processors require manual margin and font checks, MUN-Key.com features an Intelligent Resolution Checker that automatically scans uploaded documents to ensure your final drafts comply with every strict formatting rule before voting begins.
